Rest Day!

Saturday, January 31, 2009

We slept in, then we ate a delicious breakfast buffet in the
hotel. Tina Marie ate some cheese and tomato soup. We
came back to the room, sent out an e-mail to family and friends.
Next we slept through the afternoon. At dinner we ate a variety of
Chinese dishes including roasted duck and Mongolian beef. This
evening we posted on this blog and prepared the diaper bag.
TOMORROW WE MEET LIANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................................
I had to stop for a moment of reflection and anticipation. Tears of
great joy are streaming down my face. I must get to bed. Guy is asleep.

Tonight is the last night of the Chinese New Year celebration. I
can hear the fireworks and see there beautiful glow out our window
on the seventeenth floor, as I gaze across the twinkling cityscape.
I am reminded of Jesus, the Light of the world who brought us here.

Shine down on this nation, Lord, and continue bringing these
Chinese people to a saving knowledge of You who loves them
and died for their sins. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

Journey to Liana

January 29, 2009

We are grateful to Abba Father, who has adopted us into
His own eternal family, for giving us the great privilege of
adopting one of His precious orphan children. We are very
thankful for all who are faithfully supporting us through
prayer as we journey to Hefei, Anhui, P.R., China to bring
home our precious two and a half year old daughter Liana.

Journey to Liana...

Morning came early! We got to the Birmingham Airport
around 3:30 AM. We checked in at the United Airlines
terminal, and we were on our way around 6:00 O'clock.

One of the passengers was Bonnie Lovejoy, a United Airlines'
stewardess on holiday for the weekend. She was on her way to
Beijing as well. When the plane landed at O'Hare in Chicago, we
had to claim our carry-on luggage on the cold runway as the snow
gently fell. I (Tina Marie) was grateful to have on fur lined boots.

Guy accidentally picked up another person's red bag. As it turned out,
we were still in sight as the owner of the red bag I was pulling,
discovered the mistake. We apologized for the error and thanked God
that it turned out well. It would have been a nightmare trying to correct
our mistake in that humongous airport filled with multitudes of people.

We were blessed to see Stewardess Bonnie, after making the swap
of carry-on bags. She took us directly to the terminal from which we
would depart. Thank You, Jesus! It was refreshing not having to seek
which way to go! We were reminded of God's promise..."All things work
together for good to them who love the Lord..." Romans 8:28
We ate a quick lunch, then began our long wait.

We were delighted to meet a Christian author Lisa Gallington. She was
on her way to Beijing to visit her friends. She has written several books
including her newest Friendship's Promised Land. Time went by quickly
as we visited, and the four hour layover didn't seem so bad.

The trip to Beijing was the longest fourteen hours we could remember. We
flew into the night where we met the next day. We saw nothing but ice as
we flew over Siberia and Mongolia.

The time went a little more quickly once we were in China. We had a four
hour lay over in Beijing, and then we flew another two hours to Hefei. Tina
Marie: "My eyes misted as I exclaimed to Guy, "Liana is here!" We smiled
and happily hugged each other.

We were met at the airport by Jane our guide and interpreter. What a great
relief to see her smiling face as she held up a sign with Guy's name on it. We
knew that we were in our daughter's provincial city and would see a bed soon!

Jan has such a sweet spirit. She greeted us with big hugs , then off we went
for a twenty minutes ride to the Downtown Holiday Inn in Hefei. Jason our
driver got us there safely, and we were checked in within ten minutes. Once
we were in the hotel room we spent about forty-five minutes going over some
details for our meeting at the CCAA on Sunday. Jane also gave us instructions
to REST on our "day off", before we start the process of receiving Liana.

Posey People in China!

Thursday morning, January 29, 2009

I literally never went to bed last night.I was up

creating this blog spot when the alarm went off

We got to the Birmingham Airport at approximately

3:35. Our plane departed at 6:00 AM. Guy and I

flew into Chicago after a two hour flight. Bonnie, one

of the passengers was actually a stewardess for United

Airlines, on her way to Beijing for a mini vacation. She

led us directly to our terminal at O'Hare Airport, so it

was a very smooth transition. Thank you, Jesus!

My eyes misted with tears as we landed in Hefei. "

Our daughter is here!" I exclaimed to Guy with

emotion in my voice. We smiled at each other with

joy and wonder as we excited the plane.

China...here we come!

January 29, 2009

We leave in only a few short hours on a wonderful journey to meet our precious daughter Liana (lee ah na) meaning My God has answered...

God answered our prayers to adopt our Chinese daughter!

God answered the cry of an orphan for a forever family to love
her and bring her up in His ways.

We believe Liana will answer the call of Jesus to be her Lord some day.

We believe God is answering our prayers for healing...
she has postoperative congenital heart disease.
Please join us as we petition Abba Father on her behalf. Thank you!

"Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes Me." Matthew 18:5

Precious Liana, so lovely and sweet,
I long for the moment when at last we shall meet.
To hear the pitter patter of your precious feet,
To see your pretty smile when our family you greet.

I long for the privilege of rocking you to sleep,
To hold you close and hear you breathing so deep.
When I think of you my heart nearly leaps.
When at last we meet, I’ll joyfully weep.

I will sing to you upon your bed,
and in the tub when washing your head.
I praise my Heavenly Father for the privilege
Of being your mother,
And I look forward to walking alongside you
as your new world you discover.

Sleep tight precious angel,
Before long I’ll be coming for you.
I love you, Liana, my beautiful little girl.
I can’t wait to show you just how much I do!

Love always,
Mama
