Dear Birth Mother of our daughter,
I wish I could tell you just how much we love our precious girl! We are so very grateful that you chose to give her life! Today on her fourth birthday, you may be thinking… I wonder where she is. I wonder how she is doing. I wonder what she looks like. I wonder if she is in good care.
Liana was adopted by our family… the Posey People from America. We named our precious bundle of joy Liana, which means, my God has answered….God answered our cry for a Chinese girl, which had been my dream since I was a girl! God answered Liana’s cry for a forever family. We are Christians, and we believe that one day she will cry out to the Lord and ask Jesus into her heart, and He will answer.
We heard about her through Lifeline Children’s Services Waiting Child Program. We learned that she has a serious heart defect. We love her as her own. We are getting her the best medical treatment possible, so that she can live her life to the fullest.
I yearn to be able to convey to you that Liana’s smile is beautiful and contagious. She is a very sweet child. She generally wakes up happy and goes to bed singing. She has lots of friends. She is very outgoing and confident. Liana is also thoughtful and loves to share.
She brings such joy to our lives, and we can’t imagine life without her. I wish I could hug you and say thank you in person, but I am asking God to show you His love and give you His peace. Thanks again for the precious gift you lovingly shared through Liana!
Mother to mother,
Tina Marie

Bright Eyed Girl!
Liana had her first eye exam today with Dr. Michael Blackburn
of Oak Mountain Eye Care. Praise the Lord, her eyes are healthy!
Liana enjoyed the visual games the optometric assistant played
with her, as well as Dr। Blackburn’s exam assisted by his toy friends!
The staff really enjoyed our bright, inquisitive, smiling, bright eyed girl.

We would like to give you an update on our daughter Liana (Fangying). She is really adjusting very well in our forever family here in the United Sates.
In the beginning she cried out with momentary night terrors, but that is much improved. She sleeps through most nights now, and wakes up with great enthusiasm each morning.
We recently had Fangying’s heart checked by a pediatric cardiologist। We are happy to report that the surgery performed in China has done wonderfully for her. The physician did an ultrasound of her heart and checked her oxygen levels. She is in no need of any immediate surgery! He would like to see her again in a six months. She will continue to have routine appointments to keep a close watch on her heart condition. He told us to go home for now and enjoy our little girl. We were thrilled with that wonderful report! We are trusting Abba Father for a creative miracle.
Fangying has a terrific appetite. Her pediatrician says, outside her heart issue, she is a very healthy little girl. She eats most foods that are prepared for her. She really enjoys scrambled eggs and yogurt. Of course, she still loves her rice and noodles.
She has been checked out by the International Adoption Clinic. She is physically on track, and her developmental skills are great! She is bright and has a zeal for learning.
Fangying already knows and speaks over three hundred and fifty English words!
The family therapist is pleased with how well she is bonding with us. Her brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all adore her. She is adapting socially. People love her winning smile and her outgoing personality.

Parenting is a Privilege
I never would have imagined that my dream
of adopting a Chinese orphan would actually
be fulfilled shortly after my fiftieth birthday!
I am thrilled and thank God for the privilege
of being a mother once again! It’s actually
been nearly twenty-seven years since I first
became a mom! Wow!
I once said, and people often comment that
we have started over, but actually it’s only
been a long pause. Liana has always been a
part of God’s wonderful plan for our family!

Prayer and Praise
The cardiologist visit went great!
Liana had an ultrasound. Dr. Law
said that he didn't see any leaky
valves! Her oxygen level was good.
He believes the original surgery
that she had in China has helped her.
The Lord made her strong, which is
evident by the fact that she lived
through her first year before doctors
performed the original surgery. Her
doctor said he would see her every
six months for evaluation. If at any time
he determines she has a problem, he can
do a heart catheterization at that point.
There is another surgical procedure he
could do, if he deems it necessary. He told
us to take Liana home and enjoy her. We
can relax. She is doing well for a child with
her particular issues! Praise the Lord!

My retinologist said the freckle in my right eye
has grown in thickness, so I have to return
for evaluation in July. He said he won't call
it melanoma at this time, but he must keep a
closer watch. He said not to panic. Freckles
and moles can change shape, size, and color.
If the doctor ever determined that it needed
treatment, he would use a laser. However,
the freckle is right in the middle of my retina.
He said I would become partially blind, so
we continue to ask Abba Father to heal me.
