Liana’s Life Book

Children’s Welfare Institute of Hefei, Anhui, P.R. China presented us with Liana (Fang Ying’s) Life Book. They took pictures of her each season since she first came to the
orphanage at only six days old. It is a true treasure to possess her baby pictures and quarterly updates regarding her growth, PERSONALITY, and learning abilities! The nannies weren’t kidding when they said she is stubborn and has a temper! As Dr. James Dobson would say, “She is strong-willed child.” We will all have many character building opportunities in the years ahead.

Today our dear friend and guide Jane Liu came to our hotel and spent a few hours reading the Life Book and interpreting it to us on a video camera. Also, she brought us Fang Ying’s name written by a local university professor in Chinese calligraphy on handmade paper and ink made locally in Hefei as in ancient times. We look forward to framing this beautiful artwork and hanging it in Fang Ying’s room very soon.

  1. The life books are such a treasure for the children. It's wonderful for them to have all that information about their time in China. So nice of your guide to be able to translate it for you.

Love all the pictures! Glad to hear things are going well.
